The European Free Trade Association (EFTA) is the intergovernmental organisation of Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland, set up for the promotion of free trade and economic integration among its members, within Europe and globally. The EFTA Secretariat provides services to the EFTA States and has offices in Geneva, Brussels and Luxembourg.

Scope

EFTA offers the opportunity for a positive and highly skilled HR professional to join the HR team which consists of the Head of HR and three HR Coordinators.

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated team player, willing to take on different and challenging tasks. This includes participating in recruitment processes and providing extensive administrative support to the HR activities as well as being in the lead for organising general training for staff. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a high level of independence and sense of responsibility. The team is small and works closely together on various projects as they arise, as well as serving as a back-up for each other.

The tasks of the incoming HR Coordinator include, for example:

  • Handling administrative tasks within the HR team as well as covering for colleagues when needed;
  • Organising general training for all EFTA duty stations;
  • Preparing various forms for staff members (ID cards, VAT forms, etc);
  • Checking and following up on removal offers upon arrival and departure of staff members;
  • Participating in organisational tasks related to the recruitment process of staff and trainees (e.g. scheduling and setting up interviews, administering tests, handling candidate travel expense claims, providing support with regards to the traineeship programme);
  • Providing onsite support and managing logistical arrangements for various events (ordering catering, meeting room reservation, etc);
  • Updating the intranet with relevant information.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree, complemented with relevant work experience within the field of human resources.

Experience

  • Concrete and relevant work experience within the field of HR;
  • Experience in organising trainings would be an asset;
  • Work experience in an international organisation would be an asset.

Languages

Employment Terms

Grade: B5

Annual salary: EUR 53,236

Appointments are normally made at the first step of the grade. The Secretary-General reserves the right to appoint a candidate at a level different from that advertised.  Through its recruitment policy, the EFTA Secretariat wants to ensure diversity in terms of gender, age and culture.

EFTA is an international organisation and the salaries and related payments are normally exempt from income taxation by the EFTA States and the host states of the EFTA duty stations. Depending on the candidate’s family status, benefits and allowances may apply.
